Shipping Policy

How soon do you ship?

In-stock items usually ship from our Rhode Island warehouse within 1-2 business days of your order.

Items that ship from warehouses in North Carolina, Washington, and Nevada usually ship within 1-3 business days.

Please call to place your order if you need it delivered by a specific date!

Can I cancel, add to, or change my order after it is placed?

Orders for in-stock items are processed and shipped immediately.

Once we start to process an order for in-stock items, the order cannot be canceled, added to, or changed. Simply put, our chief shipper's fragile hold on sanity could be shattered by the frustrating task of trying to find a single canceled order in the haystack of (literally) hundreds of other orders that have also been packed that day, and we'd miss him if he was sent to the funny farm.

Orders for backordered items may be canceled at any time before the items ship.

If you'd like to order additional items, we can create a new order for you. In general, we cannot combine multiple orders into one shipment because the orders are processed at different times. Our chief shipper's therapist thanks you for your understanding.

Do you guarantee shipment or delivery dates?

Please call to place your order if you need it delivered by a specific date!

We'll do everything in our power to get your order on its way to you before the big trip. As we don't personally drive the UPS trucks, we cannot guarantee a particular delivery date and cannot issue a refund if the item does not arrive by the requested date.

How long does it typically take for a package to be delivered once shipped?

Twisted Throttle's typical order processing time (from receipt of order to ship date) is 1 to 2 business days.

We are located on the east coast in southern Rhode Island. UPS Ground time-in-transit to nearby areas typically takes 1-2 business days, while ground shipping to the west coast may take up to 6 business days. Please see the map to the right for UPS ground time-in-transit to your location. Items shipped from other locations will have a different time-in-transit.

Keep in mind, that if you place your order late in the day, we may not be able to process it until the next business day. Also, both our warehouse and UPS are closed on Saturday and Sunday. This means that while Florida is in the "UPS 3-day Ground zone", if you order on a Thursday night, your package will not ship until Friday, and will not arrive at your door until Wednesday (3 weekdays after the day it's shipped).

Do you require signature on deliveries?

Nope.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We ship using all available U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and United Parcel Service (UPS) shipping methods.

Availability of a particular shipping method depends on the size of the package, weight of the package, and the destination country.

We recommend using UPS for all packages being sent to destinations within the USA that weigh more than about 1-2 lbs. Packages under that weight are sometimes less expensive to send by USPS Priority Mail.

Canadian customers will save a ton of money on brokerage fees by selecting a USPS shipping method instead of UPS, but USPS isn't as fast or trackable as UPS.

Australian customers will notice that there are a lot of items (like crashbars) that are too big for us to ship via post because Australia's maximum allowable package size is tiny. In those situations, UPS is the only way we can send items to you.

What's the UPS tracking number for my order?

You will receive a computer-generated email with a tracking number within 24 hours of when your order is shipped via UPS from our warehouse.

Certain items sometimes ship from warehouses located in other parts of the country. Tracking numbers are not automatically emailed for such shipments, but can be found on our Order Status page.

To find tracking numbers or check the status of an order, please visit our Order Status page.

Do you ship to locations outside the United States?

We ship worldwide. Depending on the destination, we may require payment in advance via wire transfer.

If you would like an international shipping cost estimate, please send us an email via the "Contact Us" feature on our website. Please include the following in your email: your city, province, country, postal code, and a list of the items you would like to order.

Generally, we send international shipments via Express Mail International or Priority Mail International. Limited worldwide tracking between countries is available via these shipping methods. When available, a USPS tracking number will be automatically emailed to you within 24 hours of when your order leaves our warehouse.

We can ship internationally using UPS, but UPS international shipping rates are typically very costly - sometimes costing more than the contents of the package itself! Additionally, UPS charges brokerage fees, taxes, and duties directly to the recipient of the package upon delivery.

We ship to APO/FPO addresses. While most shipments sent through the USPS to APO/FPO addresses arrive within a week, we have had some situations in the past where USPS shipments were delivered 3 to 4 months after we shipped them. USPS shipments to APO/FPO addresses cannot be tracked.

Large items may not be shippable by certain shipping methods or may be subject to oversize fees not accounted for in our shopping cart. In these situations, we will notify you of the necessary changes to shipping method and shipping costs prior to processing your order.

We will not modify or obscure our invoice or packing list in order to circumvent or otherwise mislead customs inspectors as to the value of the contents -- please do not ask us to.

What are UPS brokerage fees on shipments sent to Canada from the United States?

When items are shipped via UPS Standard (ground) service to Canada, UPS charges a brokerage fee directly to the recipient of the package. This fee is proportional to the value of the shipment.

Items shipped via UPS Expedited or Express services are not subject to this UPS brokerage fee.

In addition to the brokerage fee, UPS charges a COD fee of $4.25 Canadian for collecting brokerage charges at the recipient's door. If you call UPS with your tracking number BEFORE the items are cleared through customs by UPS, you can pay the brokerage fee with credit card on the phone, and UPS will waive the $4.25 COD fee.

UPS Canada's brokerage fees typically range from $0.00 CAN for a package worth less than $20.00 CAN, up to about $50.00 CAN for a package worth up to $1000.00 CAN.

In addition to brokerage fees, UPS collects GST, provincial sales tax, and applicable duties on orders shipped to Canada. Twisted Throttle does not collect these fees in advance of shipping your order.

For information on such charges, please call the Canadian Border Services Agency at:
800-461-9999 (within Canada)
506-636-5064 (outside of Canada)

For all of these reasons, we recommend that you use the U.S. Postal Service, not UPS, to ship your order to Canada - it will save you a lot of money.

Is shipping & handling refundable?
