The Quick-Lock EVO carrier is next generation of luggage carrier by SW-MOTECH. Same, great Quick-Lock design, with a more robust, tubular steel rack that has an even more narrow profile than the original sidecarrier! The racks can be removed from the bike in less than 30 seconds without special tools by opening 2 quick-release fasteners on each side. These black, powder-coated, tubular steel racks are compatible with luggage cases from GIVI (Monokey system)TraX ALU-BOXPelican,Micatech, Kappa, Shad, Hepco-Becker, Krauser, and more.” Luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately. Strong enough to withstand adventure-touring off-road abuse, yet completely removable for local cruising or track days.

When the racks are removed, only 3 small mounting tabs remain visible on either side of the bike. These mounting tabs are almost invisible, preserving the original visual appearance and size of your motorcycle. Required luggage-specific adapter kits are sold separately. In addition, optional key locks (sold separately) are available to lock the racks to the bike, with the key unlocking a pair of special quick-release fasteners which secure the racks on each side. The Quick-Lock racks are made of flat steel which presents the narrowest possible lateral profile. Bolt-on installation -- no cutting or welding of motorcycle frame or bodywork is necessary. Racks are designed to work with original equipment manufacturer components -- fender, exhaust, etc. The SW-MOTECH racks are ideal for the occasional weekend tourer who desires a "stealth" look during the week, as well as the weekday commuter who needs an unencumbered machine for spirited weekend fun. Whatever your needs, the SW-MOTECH racks allow maximum flexibility and convenience.

Note: When using Pelican side case adapters, the Pelican Storm Spacer Kit KFA.05.00 will be required.

Special Note: It is recommended that these sidecarriers be used primarily for street use as the carrier bends easier than ideal for adventure use. A part tailored to adventure/enduro motorcycle riding coming soon!

Note: Fastening Kits are not required to mount these sideracks to your motorcycle. The Quick-Lock kits are keyed so you can take them on and off and have them locked when they are on your bike. The Hardbolt Kit is used if you don't want to take your sideracks off at all, as they are 'hard bolted' to your bike.

This set up is 5 star if your looking for a street touring bracket and 4 star for ADV. As stated by others if your thing is true ADV/Dual sport riding don't buy this system. If you like 80/20 riding with mostly wash board or gravel roads and a creek here or there then this will work just fine. I like it because once your home and street riding or mountain carving the whole thing snaps off leaving behind two small connection points that blend into the bike. Everything works seemingly and the Trax ADV panniers are solid. (Posted on 1/23/2016)

I made this purchase in June 2015. I had a set of these on my 2009 BMW F800GS - they were made of tubular steel and the mounting brackets attached solidly to the bike. I decided to replace the BMW Vario cases on my 2013 BMW R1200GSW with a set of SW-Motech cases and the quick-lock EVO sidecarrier. The installation was simple and the instructions were clear. Unfortunately, the racks "hang" in the same spot that the Varios did - they are NOT solidly mounted to the bike, other than at the lower front. I took my bike on a 1700 km trip which included about 600 kms of dirt/gravel track. Upon returning home, the racks were very loose; where they "hung" from the bike, the material is thin, flat metal and this metal had bent. I had to remove the racks and very gently try to bend them back into shape. This design is very poor for an Adventure Bike. I do not believe that it would stand up to much more than daily commuting, which I was looking for. Furthermore, the inner "dry bags" which came with this set both ripped on this first trip. Given my past experience with SW-Motech Trax cases, I was expecting the same. For the price paid, I am sadly disappointed. (Posted on 8/24/2015)
