The Dakar version is constructed with thicker sidewalls for greater puncture resistance.

Installed on Thursday and have over a 1000 km already. Great traction as I've been on the back roads and a few muddy lanes. (Posted on 4/25/2016)

Let's face it we like performance and looks, but not necessarily in that order. I'll admit I was attracted to the "look" of these tires...I liked the tread pattern, and road oriented profile, and I convinced myself that they would do well in dirt but not be too loud. Turns out I was right on all counts. These tires look great, are relatively quiet on pavement, have great traction in both wet and dry, and are awesome off road! My V-Strom has never felt so good on the dirt! Not sure how well they wear yet. They are a bit challenging to install if you're doing it yourself since they have stiff sidewalls...use plenty of lube. Just replaced a squared off Heidenau K60 Scout with this tire and I'm really happy with how it feels, at least on asphalt so far. Haven't tried it off road yet, but so far so good! (Posted on 1/14/2016)

These are my and most of my friends "go to" rear tire for what we do here in Indiana. Great for the road and great for when the dirt, gravel or mud come on. Seeing about 7000 miles on this tire on a big adv bikes as an average between six of us. (Posted on 12/11/2015)

Bought for Triumph Tiger 800Xc and exploring old logging roads. Only ridden on a few time so far but feels good on tarmac and has nice grip on packed gravel. Dakar model has stiff side wall and a bit more work to mount but once on seated easily (Posted on 4/16/2015)

Very pleased with this tire, friends are envious. If you install your own, a bit tough to do as sidewalls are stiff. Great traction in all conditions. Value is good, consistent with Heidenau and TKC80. Will have to see about lifespan. (Posted on 4/14/2015)

I put these on my Tiger XCX for a ride along the Arizona Backcountry Discovery Route. As I was riding the bike from L.A. to the beginning of the trail at the border of Mexico and Arizona I wanted at tire that would do well on the pavement but still allow me to hook up well on the trail. The trails were quite rocky (more so than I was prepared for) but this tire performed flawlessly. I was worried that I put on not as aggressive a tire as I would need but I had no issues. Note: We did not do any sandy sections so I can't comment as to that issue. Also I did not install them, but I can say that the walls are quite stiff and it would be a bear without a pneumatic tire machine. Trail side repair would definitely require more mechanical expertise than I possess.

After 1600 miles about 1/3 pavement and 2/3 dirt trails, unimproved jeep trails and forest service roads they look hardly used.

I would recommend them. (Posted on 3/17/2015)

I purchased the E-07 Dakar to replace the Kenda Big Block (also good) F800GSA over 3000 miles ago and it's not even half way through the tread as of yet. I had went through the K60 Scout, which I liked for pavement only, but the E-07 beats it hands down. I have taken it on single track, rocky, mud (doesn't excel here but what does and everywhere else?), gravel, forestry roads and tarmac. I also change my own tires so as far as fitment, it's about the same as all the rest. That is except for the K60, which is an absolute bear to get on or off (especially off). The E-07 is the one to grab next time you're looking to try out a new DS tire. (Posted on 2/21/2015)
