I can see that this pass holder requires that the two halves meet and touch, where the screws join the parts. So, the diameter of your bar matters; too narrow, such as my 1 1/8" Yamaha Super Tenere stock bar, means you need to shim it. The product I received came with thick rubber shims. Too thick for my bars; they would work with 1" bars per the package. So, I had some Medium size 3M Scotch Foam Mounting Squares in my parts drawer and I used two, one on each half. That was just the right thickness. (Posted on 6/13/2016)

Purchased for GS 1200 LC. While securing this to the handle bar the bolt "tore" through the plastic. Not over-tightened, but tight enough to get the device to stop moving on the bar. (Posted on 3/12/2016)
