Motorcycle Service Technician

Job Title: Motorcycle Service Technician

Twisted Throttle is currently seeking an experienced motorcycle technician able to perform general motorcycle repair, maintenance and accessory installation services with little supervision required. Motorcycle technicians must have and maintain their own tools and maintain a valid motorcycle license.  Qualified candidates must be energetic, detail oriented, and, most importantly, have a passion for all things motorcycles. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install bolt-on accessories such as crashbars, luggage systems and hand guards
  • Perform custom electrical wiring and electrical accessory installations
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing tires, oil filter, oil, spark plugs, chain, sprockets, brake fluid, brake pads, batteries and other wear items
  • Perform simple fabrication (i.e., create mounting brackets from cut and bent sheet metal)
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately
  • Diagnose the cause of common motorcycle problems and perform repairs
  • Document all recommended and performed work on the repair order
  • Road test motorcycles when required
  • Perform Rhode Island state safety inspections
  • Washing/cleaning customer motorcycles upon completion of service work
  • Keep shop area neat and clean
  • Resolve customer complains immediately and effectively retain the customer's future business
  • Assist with opening and closing duties in the service center and showroom
  • Assist warehouse crew with receiving, inventory management, and picking, packing, and processing orders as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Motorcycle enthusiast
  • Must have a clean driving record with a motorcycle endorsement
  • Must have a current Rhode Island state safety inspector certification or obtain one within 3 months of the date of hire
  • Soldering and wiring skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional motorcycle service technician; multi-line dealership experience preferred.
  • Formal technician training (MMI, OEM, or similar training programs) is preferred but not required
  • Active listening: giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Extreme attention to detail
