Note: The Rear luggage carrier for Givi or SW-MOTECH TraX topcases (Buell Ulysses XB12X & XB12XT, all years) has been discontinued and is no longer able to be ordered.This black powder coated, tubular steel luggage rack is compatible with Givi Monokey lugggage cases (using optional Givi E251 adapter plate) and Givi Monolock topcases (using universal Givi plate included with any Monolock topcase purchase). You can also use this rear carrier to attach an SW-MOTECH TraX aluminum topbox to the bike using an universal TraX adapter kit. The toprack can be mounted independent of our FHG.7138KH sideracks for Givi sidecases (available separately).
The Ulysses's Triple Tail still works in all positions with toprack fitted.
If you are also purchasing a Givi Monolock topcase, you do not need to also buy the Z113C plate kit.
Without modification, our Ulysses topcarrier cannot be used in conjunction with the Buell OEM sidecarriers for Hepco-Becker sidecases. If you wish to use sidecases with our topcarrier, we recommend using our Ulysses sidecarriers and a set of Givi sidecases.
Installation notes from Bob Sims of BadWeatherBikers.com, June 26, 2007:
1. The upper toprack mounting bolts supplied with my Fehling kit were the wrong thread. The correct thread should be SAE 5/16"-18 TPI (fine thread) x 1.5" long, not metric M8x35mm. The M8 will fit, but just barely, and risks damaging the alloy threads.
2. The subframe parts on the Uly are all made of alloy metal, of course, so be careful when threading the bolts. The soft frame metal is very easy to cross-thread. Use blue Loctite and err on the side of too loose, rather than too tight.
Note: since these comments were provided, we have updated the kit to include the correct SAE 5/16"-18 TPI (fine thread) x 1.5" long screws. All kits shipping from Twisted Throttle now have these screws.
