I am 5’6” tall, 160lbs and ordered a size medium. The jacket fits very snug both on and off my 2006 Ninja 650R with only a t-shirt underneath. The jacket is great for hot weather and it almost feels like you are wearing only a t-shirt. Anything below 75F to 80F (depending on the humidity and amount of sun) will feel chilly out on the freeway. The jacket flows tons of air through the main panels but very little through the ballistic reinforcements, even so it has more than adequate airflow. I decided to get the light grey color (which is more of a cream color, imo) to help lessen the absorption of the sun’s rays. The side eye technology is cool and the reflective panels really light up in low light conditions. The cuffs are okay and take a bit of getting used to as they don’t have any zippers which makes it hard to properly adjust gloves and have the cuffs lay flat. I would prefer a combo of zippers and snaps, but the velcro is ok. The Macna vision vest attachment system is corny and "plastic-y", if the attachment points were snaps and zipper system, I would prefer that, and take off the corny writing “Macna vision vest prepared”. The backpad is flimsy and will need to be upgraded (like most oem stock back pads). I ordered the SAS-Tec protector and it is awesome! A perfect fit and very comfortable. The armor in the jacket is lightweight and has low coverage but for a summer jacket I would say it is adequate. I would consider upgrading if you live in a very hot climate and will ride the majority of the time in this jacket. I live in Minnesota so I only use this a couple weeks in the summer. The zipper pulls are made of hard plastic and are quite small, they are hard to find even with my lightweight leather summer gloves. The feature I dislike the most on the jacket is the arm adjusters. They look silly and dig into the inside of my elbow. They do provide a good range of adjustment, but the plastic is flimsy and looks cheap. The jacket does have some nice detailing on the waist adjustment straps with red anodized aluminum toggles and the upper back with a red anodized aluminum hanger loop; why couldn't the designers incorporate this material on the zipper pulls and elbow adjustment straps? Overall the jacket is nice and does what it is supposed to but the details are lacking and make it feel cheap upon close inspection. Riding around no one will notice. I understand the jacket is at a low price point and is designed to be lightweight for summer use, but I wish the designers would get rid of the plastic bits and bobs and use more substantial materials; add spring-loaded metal snaps, anodized aluminum adjusters, larger zipper toggles and the jacket would be awesome. Here in California you see riders taking off down the 101 in nothing more than a t-shirt when it's hot. This jacket is a great way to buy yourself some good protection and still keep cool. The ventilation is supreme. Once you get a little speed the air just flows around you, but you can be confident that your shoulder and elbow armor is keeping you safer, and you have some abrasion resistance.

Originally I wanted the hi-viz but after waiting many weeks with it being out of stock, I decided to switch my order to the 'night eyes' model, which arrived right away. While hi-viz might be a bit better in the day, the night-eye material is truly amazing after dark. It looks plain grey in the day but it becomes magically reflective after sundown. I wish there was hi-viz that was also 'night eye' capable, but hey, maybe in the future.

I really don't have any complaints about the cuffs, zipper, or anything. Love this jacket. I did upgrade to the CE level 2 back protection considering the marginal cost, and yes that better back protector is a big improvement versus the thin foam that comes with the base model. There is a standard-looking pouch in the back so I suppose if you wanted to go all out, you could even get one of the higher end back protectors from a different manufacturer and swap it in, but the "CE level 2" insert from Macna is a big bang for the small buck.
