  2. Continental TKC70, Dual Sport, Front 17 Inch, Size 120/70-17

Continental TKC70, Dual Sport, Front 17 Inch, Size 120/70-17, 60% Street / 40% Dirt, 58W, Tubeless Radial Tire

Continental's newly designed TKC70 balances the needs of an on-road rider with the moderate off-road performance. Compared to a street-legal knobby, this tire will offer agile, neutral handling on your big adventure machine. The TKC70 also provides excellent high speed stability, rider comfort, and reduced noise levels (due to the small central rear band). Using Continental's unique Rain Grip compound, the TKC70 combines it with wide sipes for excellent drainage capabilities that will give this tire superb wet-condition performance. The Continuous Compound Technology and self cleaning grooves make the TKC70 adaptable to changing weather conditions. Proven to be long lasting and exhibiting amazing off-road capability for those days you want to take that "shortcut," the TKC70 is for riders who do much of their riding on road, but enjoy occasional trail riding.

  3. Pirelli Angel GT, Sport Touring, Rear 18 Inch, Size 190/55-18, 75W, Tubeless Radial Tire

Pirelli Angel GT, Sport Touring, Rear 18 Inch, Size 190/55-17, 75W, Tubeless Radial Tire

You ran Deals Gap three times this morning and are about to head over to the Blue Ridge Parkway. From its beginning in Cherokee, North Carolina, to the far end in Fishersville, Virginia, it's 469 miles of summertime bliss. You've just finished beating on your tires and now need them to take you thousands of miles home.

That's why sport-touring tires have the toughest job there is. These motorcycle tires have to last a long time and provide excellent grip for machines as varied as the BMW R1200RT, Kawasaki Concours 14, and Yamaha FJR1300, as well as smaller machines. Easy, right? Maybe. But the development is not the work of a moment. Pirelli expended substantial development effort on the Angel GT to serve long-distance riders who demand the grip of a sport tire by leveraging the experience gained with the popular Angel ST and from the Italian company’s racing with the Supercorsa lineup. With a new tread pattern, updated rubber compounds, and revised construction, the Angel GT gains grip and longevity in one stride. Maybe there's time (and tread) for one more pass over the Dragon...

    Features:

    • 99% street / 1% gravel driveway (okay, it's really a sport-touring tire)
    • Built for large-displacement sport-touring bikes but suitable for smaller motorcycles
    • Sizes for all the common sport-touring motorcycles as well as sport bikes and commuter cycles
    • Rear tires have a dual compound tread for high mileage in concert with excellent dry grip
    • Durability increased by up to 30% compared to the Angel ST
    • Increased use of silica means better grip during cold, damp conditions
    • Compared to the older Angel ST, the GT has improved tread patterns for better wet-weather performance
    • Updated profiles front and rear result in a contact patch that’s shorter (front to rear) but wider
    • Profile optimized to enhance handling

Continental ContiRoadAttack 3, Sport Touring, Front 19 Inch, Size 110/80-19, 59V, Tubeless Radial Tire

Continental's latest sport-touring tire is the ContiRoadAttack 3. You don't need to be a numerologist to realize it's a development of the RoadAttack2 Evo, but what the number doesn't tell you is the tire's strong emphasis on wet-weather performance. Continental gave the ContiRoadAttack 3 motorcycle tire additional silica in the rubber compound and a heavily revised tread pattern with grooves all the way to the edge of the tire that give water a clear exit path from the contact patch. The result? Better grip on wet pavement. At the same time, Continental updated the RoadAttack's profile for improved steering response.

A more durable multi compound promises more consistent handling from the first mile to the last. And to improve durability, the rear tread pattern has a continuous, uninterrupted strip of rubber down the center. Zero-degree steel belts help the tire maintain shape under load and promote stability without sacrificing compliance over bumps.

While maintaining dry grip levels compared to the RoadAttack 2 Evo, the RoadAttack 3 has 15% better wet grip, 5% better handling, 10% better mileage, and warms up 5% faster.

    Features:

    • Sport touring
    • Wet grip improved 15% over the RoadAttack 2 Evo
    • Handling improve 5% over the RoadAttack 2 Evo
    • Mileage improved 10% over the RoadAttack 2 Evo
    • Warm-up time improved by 5% over the RoadAttack 2 Evo
    • Multi compound design for wear resistance at the center of the tire
    • Softer rubber near the edges for strong grip in corners
    • Zero-degree steel-belt design
    • TractionSkin retains a pebbled surface on a new tire to reduce break-in time to near zero
    • Sizes for all the common sport-touring motorcycles as well as sport bikes and commuter cycles

Continental ContiRoadAttack 3, Sport Touring, Rear 17 Inch, Size 130/80-17, 65V, Tubeless Radial Tire

    Avon TrailRider AV53, Dual-Sport, Front 21 Inch, Size 90/90-21, 90% Street / 10% Dirt, 54V, Tubeless Bias Ply Tire

Adventure-touring motorcycles are a delicious combination of on-road comfort and off-road capabilities. If you're here, you know that already. But finding the right set of tires that provide good wear characteristics, comfortable highway cruising, and suitable off-highway performance is as big a challenge as packing half your closet into a pair of Trax Adventure side cases.

Avon's TrailRider, which replaces the popular Distanzia and is classified as a 90/10 tire (90% street / 10% dirt), has a SRS (super-rich silica) compound that helps the tire grip in the wet and in low temperatures. At the other extreme, SRS reduces excessive heat buildup so a hot day on the road doesn’t leave your tires sweating. The radial rear TrailRider is made with a multi-compound tread with a harder center section for increased mileage compared to more dirt-oriented tread patterns, and sticky shoulders for peg-dragging on pavement. Interlocking three-dimensional points hidden in the tread sipes improve stability and grip, limit tread flex, and help the tire warm up quickly. The TrailRider benefits from Avon’s high-tech carcass construction and next-generation compounds to deliver an outstanding combination of grip and wear in a street-oriented adventure tire.

    Features:

    • New Super Rich Silica (SRS) Compound using the very latest compounding technology to enhance wet grip
    • Multi-compound treads on radial rears to enhance mileage and grip
    • Interlocking three dimensional points hidden in the sipes to improve stability and grip, limit tread flex, and allow the tire to warm up quickly – 3D SIPES (radial tires)
    • High-tech carcass construction and next-generation compounds deliver superb grip and handling
    • Street oriented, but with sufficiently large tread grooves for modest off-road riding

You didn't buy a high-performance supersport motorcycle to put low-performance tires on it, did you? Of course not. That's why you'll want Avon's latest performance tire, the 3D Ultra Sport. With capabilities that span from track days to commuting, the AV79 (front) and AV80 (rear) Ultra Sport tire which brings together the performance of a sportbike tire with the mileage of a street tire.
