SW-MOTECH centerstand with foot lever arm for Kawasaki KLR650 '08-'15

$157.50
SKU: HPS.08.364.100

Limited stock

The must-have accessory to ease basic chain maintenance, tire changes, parking, and bike cleaning. This centerstand includes a foot lever arm and a lifting handle to aid in raising the bike off of the ground.

Super-strong steel construction features high engineering standards. Superb integration with the factory exhaust and sidestand components -- retain all existing features without sacrificing lean angle or clearances. This centerstand raises the rear tire 1-2 inches off the ground when installed on the standard height version of KLR650 using OEM knobby tires.

All hardware needed to mount the centerstand is included. Typically installs using basic hand tools. No welding, cutting, or drilling of the existing frame or body parts is required. Tough black powdercoated finish. A double-retention spring is included as a safety feature to prevent the centerstand from contacting pavement if one of the two springs should fail during a ride.

Fitment notes:

  • Fits with or without the SW-MOTECH skidplate for the KLR650.
  • Designed to work with OEM components -- we cannot assure fit with aftermarket exhausts or other accessories.
  • Recommended for the original (unlowered) KLR650E. Special Note: We do not recommend installing centerstands on bikes with a lowered rear suspension because use on a lowered bike may result in: 1. Ground clearance & cornering clearance problems 2. Difficulty in lifting the lowered bike onto the centerstand.
  • Please note: Due to very tight clearances, the side stand MUST be in the lowered position when deploying and retracting the centerstand.

Included:

  • Centerstand with Foot Lever Arm
  • Springs
  • Lifting Handle
  • Mounting Hardware

Specs:

  • Total weight- 8.05 lbs. (including packaging)

I like the stability of a center stand over the stock side stands and have added one to every bike I have owned if it didn't already have one from the factory. This one was extremely easy to install. I was able to install the spring with a screw driver and did not need to purchase the expensive spring installation tool.

The stand hasn't significantly reduced my ground clearance and it stays tucked up under through the rough stuff (no banging yet). The only real dislike is I have to put the side stand down to use it and the side stand has to stay down until the center stand is folded up. If not, the center stand can't fully retract back up underneath. I would also like the foot lever to be slightly larger but I can deal with it as is. (Posted on 5/28/15)

I got this to replace a Happy Trail centerstand the broke after five years. Fairly to install and rocks up onto the stand with little effort. My only complaint is that while the chart states that the centerstand is compatable with the SW Motech crashbars, the kit does not include bolts long enough to install both. (Posted on 5/13/15)

Love my center stand. Installed in all of 5 minutes. It doesn't sit quite locked on the stand but this is the pay off for getting your rear tire way up off the ground. It's easy to get the bike up on it but again it's very easy to rock it off the stand. I keep a ratchet strap in my saddlebags to quickly attach from the stand to the front center vertical frame rail if I'm parking it on uneven terrain or working on my bike. It's a small price to pay for the luxury of a center stand. (Posted on 5/3/15)

Good build quality. Was easy to install and I suck with tools! Is so much better loading bags and cleaning chain with bike upright. Took a little practice to get the bike up on the centerstand but after some practice and the proper technique was a non issue. Would highly recommend the stand. (Posted on 3/30/15)

With my KLR 650 the single side kickstand sometimes wasn't enough out in the dirt. Terrain conditions at times made it difficult (at best) to park the bike. The center stand allows for better weight distribution when using a metal or wood platform in soft sand, dirt, or gravel. (Posted on 11/25/14)

This center stand works well. Once installed it goes up on the stand easier than my beemer or Honda which had factory stands. The only problem was the bolt holes in the spring attachment plate were too small. I had to drill them out then repaint the plate which added a day to an otherwise easy installation. The other two plates had the correct size holes and the bolts supplied in the kit went through easily. (Posted on 4/4/13)
