This accessory mount uses existing windscreen mounting points to provide a secure, flat mounting surface with an adjustable viewing angle and height. Designed to move the GPS unit away from the rider to a more direct line of sight. This unit also has the added functionality of a quick release tab that removes the dampened device holder for a cleaner look. Pre-drilled holes are perfectly positioned to attach any RAM-B-238-compatible RAM mounts (sold separately) OR a TomTom Rider GPS.

Will accept the cradle from Garmin Zumo 660 and 665 with the optional SW-MOTECH GPS Adapter Kit for the Garmin Zumo 660/665.

RAM-B-238 NOT necessary to attach the RAM mounts for a Garmin 2600/2700-series GPS to this mount. The RAM-B-238 should NOT be used to add arms to the mount platform, as excessive vibration may occur.

An additional hole is pre-drilled in this mount when used with with the ram holders for the Garmin Etrex, Garmin Quest, Garmin 60 Series, and other RAM GPS mounts that have a 45 degree offset mounting position.

Cannot be installed on a bike fitted with Yamaha OEM Side Wind Deflectors.

PROS: Location, location, location. This is the ideal view-centered perch for a nav unit. Installation on my Tenere was simple and well instructed using the enclosed procedure. Straightforward and concise directions.
For 8k miles it's been a sound mount and allows for simple, one-handed GPS mounting and dismounting. Wired through ignition and good to go.

CONS: Vibration Damping... Not truly. I have a larger new Garmin model and yet still find it difficult to read text at speed due to a fine-medium resonant vibration. Not a deal breaker, just not quite as put forth. I thought perhaps by loosening or tightening screws running through rubber bumpers might help with finding the sweet spot to cancel the vibes but no luck there.

I come from RAM mounts on handlebars on other bikes and although I much prefer that degree of vibration damping... I much prefer this mount if only for location.
