The risers are placed between the fork crown and the handlebars to raise the bars up 1 1/4" (38mm). This will help to relieve wrist and neck pain on long rides. Longer bolts are supplied. Generally requires no change of any control cables, wiring, or hoses.
NOTE: The 2008 Ninja 500R may require a brake line extension.

Great product, took about 10 minutes to put them on. Really helps my position and comfort. Install is straightforward, and you really don't need instructions, it is quite obvious when you take the handgrip off what to do next, they only fit on one way to match the shape of the grip part. Don't forget the side set screw also needs a metric hex wrench. All the cables fit, I actually thought the choke cable was tighter than the front brake line, but both fit without excessive strain.
