I purchased the GS tankbag to replace the extremely tired and somewhat elderly BMW tankbag I'd been using for the past couple years. I wanted to make an upgrade over the BMW bag, and this is definitely an improvement: 1. Mounting: the tank ring and mating bag ring make installation a "snap" (ha ha). Compared to the hooks and failing zipper I was was used to, this is a pleasure to remove and install. 2. Features: A: The exterior pockets are reasonably sized and easily hold small items that would otherwise be lost in the cavern that is the main bag. B: Electrification (an option I splurged on) is simple and effective. A quite clever relay setup prevents the pads on the tank ring from being electrified when the bag is removed, so no threat of sparky sparky when you're fueling your bike. The cable has a quick release connector, so you don't have to disconnect it from your battery or accessory block when removing the tank. The only criticism I can legitimately come up with is the lack of an obvious fuse. C: Cell phone pocket. Another nice feature. But the touchscreen on my phone doesn't work through the plastic window. Oh Well. I shouldn't be playing tetris on my phone while riding anyway. Bad. Bad me *slaps hand* 3. Installation. The single flaw I've found with this bag is the screws it is supplied to mount the ring to the bag are a hair short. I substituted M5x25 SS panhead screws I got at the hardware store and it mounted up fine. The two lengths of screws provided to mount the ring to the filler cap were adequate to mount to my '04 1150 GS. 4: Riding impressions: The left far corner of the bag obscures the right lower corner of my GPS (Zumo 660 in a Touratech mount). I can *probably* solve this by moving the GPS. The bag itself disappears while riding. It doesn't flop in the wind or slide off to one side like my old zipper and hook tankbag did. Overall, I'm impressed. You'll pay a lot for this bag and electrification kit, but you'll get what you pay for. I would buy a second one if A) I could afford it and B) I had a second bike to mount it to.
