High-quality, German-made Quick-Lock luggage sideracks by SW-Motech. This unique design allows the racks to be removed from the bike in less than 30 seconds without special tools by opening 3 quick-release fasteners on each side. These narrow profile, black powder-coated steel racks are compatible only with GIVI V35 PLX side luggage cases. No additional adapter kit necessary.

When the racks are removed, only 3 small mounting tabs remain visible on either side of the bike. These mounting tabs are almost invisible, preserving the original visual appearance and size of your motorcycle. Optional keyed locks (sold separately) are available to lock the racks to the bike, with the key unlocking a pair of special quick-release fasteners which secure the racks on each side. The Quick-Lock racks are made of tubular steel which presents the narrowest possible lateral profile.

Bolt-on installation -- no cutting or welding of motorcycle frame or bodywork is necessary. Racks are designed to work with original equipment manufacturer components -- fender, exhaust, etc. The SW-MOTECH racks are ideal for the occasional weekend tourer who desires a "stealth" look during the week, as well as the weekday commuter who needs an unencumbered machine for spirited weekend fun.

This kit requires the relocation of the turn signals with the included electrical components. The stock rear fender is required.

Not compatible with the GPT.08.185.10000.B luggage system.

Note: Fastening Kits are not required to mount these sideracks to your motorcycle. The Quick-Lock kits are keyed so you can take them on and off and have them locked when they are on your bike. The Hardbolt Kit is used if you don't want to take your sideracks off at all, as they are 'hard bolted' to your bike.

Purchased SW-MOTECH rack system for my 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS back in May of 2014 after I purchased the new bike. Instructions were dead on, but you also need to be a bit mechanically inclined to do the install. The twisted throttle video of the R&G tidy tail install was helpful in taking apart the rear of the bike for the relocation of the rear turn signals. I also used the same video in finding a "switched" power source for the install of my Twisted Throttle Power Hub. The red wire depicted in the video that leads to the tag light was the wire that I tapped into for a switched power source. Thanks TT (Posted on 9/20/2014)

Installation was easy, great fit and look real good. I did not go like instruction say's for the flasher wire. I pass the wire in the tail section going out right under the license plate light, it look much better. (Posted on 8/27/2014)

I got this installed. Like all things SW-Motech, the quality is excellent. But note that the sideracks are NOT tubular, as in the photo .. they are made of flat steel (I've attached a photo).

These are different from the Kawasaki mounting racks, in that they don't buttress the rear subframe. Also, the factory racks includes one more mounting point. What this means is that the factory racks are stronger. If you carry a passenger or plan to exceed the recommended 10kg / 22lbs then the factory rack is a better choice.

The instructions have two minor errors:

1. It depicts the top mounting bracket installed with the quick-lock hole above the passenger grab rail; it must be under it (I've attached a photo).
2. There is nothing which illustrates the middle plastic screw which attaches the PLX case carrier to the mounting bracket.

Also .. the kit comes with turn signal wire extenders, but by drilling a small hole under the license plate light and installing a grommet, I was able to route the wires without modification (it was a tight fit though). (Posted on 7/23/2014)

Just installed these on my Ninja 1000. Takes a fair amount of time but well worth it. Fit,finish and appearance are quite good. Easily removed in a matter of seconds. Shipping was prompt and all items received as ordered.++ (Posted on 2/5/2013)
