What's in the box:

  • Horn Bracket
  • Mounting hardware
  • Installation instructions

Fitment Note: This mounting bracket does not fit R1200GS/R1250GS/Adventure models with lowered suspension.

IMPORTANT: Before the 2016 model year, BMW changed the fairing mount in the R1200GS (not the Adventure), which influences how the DENALI horn mount fits the bike. Mostly, this change affects the 2016 bikes but we have heard that could affect 2015 models as well. How can you tell which one you have?
  • If the location where the horn mount is to be attached has an M8 bolt threading from the right (throttle) side of the bike into the welded nut on the left (clutch) side of the bike, you have the later style and this mount WILL work.
  • If the location where the horn mount is to be attached has an M6 bolt threading from the left (clutch side of the bike) into the welded nut on the right (throttle) side of the bike, you have the earlier style and this mount NOT work. Click here for the part you need.

This is not a knock on the product itself, just a warning to anyone considering Denali’s Soundbomb Compact for their late model BMW R1200GS Adventure with the factory low suspension option. Clearly, Denali engineers did not have the factory low suspension variant in mind when designing the mounting bracket. As noted in the attached photo of my 2018 R1200GSA (low), there is only 2” of clearance between the A-arm bolt cover and horn. This setup couldn’t survive a drop off a curb much less even mild to moderate off-road use. Worse, when the A-arm strikes (and breaks) the horn, it’s likely to bend the mounting bracket and tilt the horn into the path of the forks, thus restricting their movement. I can’t envision any potential solution to this problem for the low suspension model other than going to a “split” setup or perhaps the SoundBomb Mini. I absolutely love the integration of my D4 driving lights, B6 brake light and SoundBomb horn with the CanSmart Controller, and I went to great lengths to hide all of the wiring harnesses (which necessitated removal of all plastic bodywork and fuel tank). Sadly, though, the SoundBomb Compact horn must be removed for safety concerns before I’ve even had a chance to use it out on the road. (Posted on 7/16/2019)

What can you say about a horn? Yes, this horn is loud. You'll need to think about how and where you want to mount it. Since I have the Denali upper light mount I placed it there. The option to mount it between the forks doesn't really afford that much room. Others have pulled off the tupperware, no, that's a really poor option. (Posted on 7/2/2018)

Local shop didn't know about this product. I seen it on a you tube video and checked it out at Twisted Throttle. Decided to purchase it and I am glad I did. It trims out the Horn very nicely and a much cleaner fit. It did take a while to get it, so I guess its a popular piece. It was worth the wait. (Posted on 3/11/2018)

This bracket does exactly what it is designed to do. I do not understand why they only list it for 2016 and newer. I needed this on my 2014 model. Made the horn install easy. (Posted on 5/18/2017)
