See what customers have to say:

"I love my MEFO tires !! They felt planted on the road even around 100 mph. Better on gravel and dirt than the Scorpions. I even got surprised riding on forest service roads , facing a few miles of rutted slick mud, and the MEFO Explorer's pulled me through it almost like knobbies !!
Thanks Twisted Throttle!!"

My CRF1000L AfricaTwin has about 30,000 miles on it, about 50% dirt road and trails, riding with KLRs and XR650Ls and the other 50% on mostly asphalt twisties riding with 650, 1000 and a ZX-10R Kawasaki Nijas. The Explorer on the front and Super Explorer on the rear are a perfect match, they stick on wet or dry roads better than the original stock tires and as well as the Pirelli Scorpion Trail IIs I had on it for a while. They are great on dirt roads, gravel river beds, river crossings and good enough on sand to get a 500 pound bike anywhere I want it to be. (Posted on 8/11/2019)

I put this on the back of my CRF1000L Africa Twin and it took time to some getting used to the slight difference in cornering geometry. I throughly enjoy the off road traction of this tire, hard pack dirt, loose dirt, gravel river beds, wet river crossings, mud and loose sand, this tire helped my 500 pound bike ride more like a 200 pound bike. Yea, it Howls and vibrates a little at highway speeds but grips in the twisties as well as the stock tires did. I've put 4,500 very hard miles on the tire and will soon be replacing it with a new Mefo Super Explorer 150/70 R18. (Posted on 8/31/2017)

After 500 miles of Appalachian paved, gravel, and dirt roads I'm diggin' these Mefo tires on my Africa Twin. Mefo Explorer up front and Super Explorer rear are an excellent choice for the dirt minded rider. They are a bit taller profile so my bike leans a bit more on the side stand. I was looking for an all around tire for the my 990 Adventure and this one seemed to fit the bill. It was big enough and had a decent tread pattern. Threw the tire on before a 600 mile trip, old tire was a Conti knobby. I cant remember the model because once I rode this tire I forgot all about that pile of junk last tire. Lots of loose gravel to smooth as glass fresh paved road conditions on this trip. Tire is smooth and quite, I didn't even balance the wheel after install. Air pressure was set at 36 psi. The cornering ability on the bike was unbelievable, I was able to lean over in corners so well my extended pegs scrapped the asphalt. After 600 miles the tread was in really good shape, the leading edges were just starting to round off and the depth seemed unchanged. (Posted on 8/30/2016)

This will be my 3rd Mefo Explorer rear. First one came on the bike used. After going through another (8,000 miles) I got yet another.
I am thoroughly impressed with the traction of these tires on and off-road, and they wear like iron. It's hard to believe.
KTM 990 Adventure, I usually run them from 36 - 38psi, up to 42psi fully loaded with passenger. My 15 mile commute is a 70/30 mix of road and gravel/singletrack/atv trails.
Can you get a tire for $100 instead of $200? Sure...but the VALUE of this tire at $200 is ALL there. (Posted on 5/7/2016)

I put this tire on at around 89,000 miles, my 950 Adv is ready to turn 100,000 and the tire still has life left in it. That being said, I'm not a traffic light drag racer so that may have contributed to its longevity. I can say that no big block tire like the TKC or Kenda will get that many miles and the Mefo seems to works just as well in the same conditions. (Posted on 12/22/2015)

I have run several tires on the rear of my 990. I feel more confident offraod and onroad on this tire than any other tire I've run. Also worth noting, fully loaded with a passenger this tire doesnt "wiggle" in the corners like other knobby tires. Wears long, even in the desert heat. (Posted on 7/7/2014)
