I just bought this windscreen and installed it last week. Just shy of a 1000k's of mixed riding (street, highway and dirt) and its awesome. I ve installed it on my 2017 BMW R1200 GS Rallye and it took 10 minutes. (If that...). I m 6Ft tall with the standard Rally seat and I could ride with my visor up into the 70 to 80 KPH zone. Even then, there was only a moderate amount of wind. (Posted on 11/2/2018)

This 2017 R1200GS is the second motorcycle that I have put an MRA vario windscreen on. I am as pleased as ever.

I purchased this screen in hopes of getting rid of the turbulence of the OEM screen that hit me right in the visor, and cutting down on the shimmy wobble that the factory screen has. Plus, I like the looks of the smoked screen.

So, out of those objectives, one was totally achieved and the other not so much.

First, this screen blocks A LOT of wind. So much so, that when I have it adjusted anywhere from the mid to high position with the spoiler up, my helmet vents cease to flow any air and none of my jacket vents get any flow either. It's great in the cold or drizzle, but makes it a bit hot in the summer in Florida. When I'm riding in anything above 70°, I collapse the spoiler and crack the screen all the way to low. This brings my helmet and jacket vents back into play. Even in the fully lowered position like this it deflects the majority of the buffet up to about 70mph.

As far as being more solid, it certainly is more substantial than the factory plastic, so it doesn't flex as much, but the hinge system still wobbles a bit. I think it's just a weakness of the adjuster system.

Overall, I think you can't go wrong with this purchase!

Cheers!

Excellent fit on "14 R1200GSW. Very close to original in size, but adjustable lip makes world of difference. "Clean air" now flows either above helmet or lower, but with little turbulence. (Posted on 11/16/2017)

Like the lip on top. However, the main screen needs work. It allows too much air around to the rider. Should be widened. (Posted on 8/8/2017)

I do not agree at all when I read that the stock windshield works bad. I'm 5' 8" and on my GS 2016, the stock one gives me a much better protection agains the wind and a much quieter ride than the MRA. First, the MRA is narrower and you fell it right away on your arms and body. Also, while l fell no wind turbulence on my head with the stock shield, I do with the MRA. My goal was to get a better protection against the rain but I don't think it's gone work since it's not even good against the wind. (Posted on 8/20/2016)

I have been using MRA screens on several bikes over the years, and they work the best. Current 2016 BMW R1200GSA screen is horrid, with buffeting, poor wind control, and although adjustable, does not meet requirement. The MRA fits excellently on the GSA, retains the GSA manual screen adjustment, and controls the airflow much better than stock. The additional adjustable wing on the screen adds further control for your personal needs. (I am 6'2", and have a taller seat than stock, so stock was really miserable on wind control for me).
