This SW-MOTECH Non-Electric QUICK-LOCK EVO City Motorcycle Tank Bag was designed especially for the narrow handlebar clearances and sloping tank of BMW GS models, but fits many sport-touring and enduro bikes with steeply sloping tanks. With its narrow cut front it does not cause handlebar interference. Despite the narrow form in the front, the expandable City EVO tank bag offers a volume of 11 to 15 liters. Compatible with the SW-MOTECH EVO QUICK-LOCK tank rings, see the app chart below to determine which mounting system is appropriate for your bike.

The SW-MOTECH QUICK-LOCK tank bag system enables the luggage to be mounted or removed easily without the use of straps or magnets that may damage your motorcycle's finish. The system includes the tank bag, upper tank ring and a separately available tank ring that is designed to be installed onto the motorcycle. Once the system is assembled, the tank bag can be snapped securely into place or removed by pulling a release lanyard at the front of the unit.

Note: This bag will fit the GS-Adventure, with tight clearance with the factory crossbar. Your bars may have to be rotated slightly forward, but you will be able to retain the crossbar.

Installation of handlebar bar backs on your motorcycle moves your handlebars closer to the rear of your tank, and may cause the handlebars to interfere with ANY tank bag on many models of motorcycles.

Please verify before ordering: If your gas cap has 7 screws order the Type 135 ring. If your gas cap has 5 screws, order the Type 140 ring.

Some ZX14s have holes without any threading and require two extra nylocks to attach the ring. If you're attaching a tank ring to this bike, let us know and we'll send you the extra Nylocks!

I bought this tank bag for my Alaska Trip this year... and though I haven't gone on the trip yet, I do know that it'll work for everyday as well.
The design is very good.. and it matches the contour of the tank perfectly. The bag will interfere only slightly at "Full Lock" but it only just bumps the front of the bag... Bar risers would probably mitigate the issue but it's really not an issue. The thing is a great addtion. (Posted on 5/8/2018)

Haven't used this bag a lot yet (slow spring) but so far it seems decent. Easy to install. My only complaint so far on my Kawasaki Concours is that the front of the bag touches the plastic cover in front of the tank. Looks like it may scratch. At the other side (behind the gas cap, near the seat) it looks like it may rest here too but the Connie has a rubber protection that the bag can rest on. (Posted on 4/30/2018)

I haven't gotten to use bag yet, (waiting for winter to end), but I did mount bag to my motorcycle tank. Installation was easy and straight forward. The bag appears to be well made, and it seems to mount securely to the tank ring. It has a locking feature to dissuade would be thieves, but anyone mildly determined could easily steal the bag. The bag easily detaches, and has a shoulder strap for carrying, so taking the bag with is the only sure way to keep it from being stolen. (Posted on 1/20/2018)

And the Buck stopped here as i have had now four SW Motech bags so far and this one saved me in a recent crash acting like an air bag and kept me out of the sharp stuff on the bike on impact. Sorry no details about that but the bag did NOT dislodge and the impact was strong enough to bend the forks severely. But I digress. The Bag fits the GS tank area better in my view than the one they actually make for it and it is moreover a better size for the GS and doesn't block any instruments nor does it interfere with the bars.

I still use the mini bag when I am just going for a day ride sometimes or hanging about with friends doing errands as it is easy to pop off and take in a fast food meal without worry of theft . The mid size one is one I had which fit my RS amazingly and actually added to the design of the bike rather than detracted from it but somehow it did nothing for the GS tank shape and looked awkward by comparison so I have relegated it to a future use if I should add another bike one day.

The City bag accepts the map case accessory very well and is very accommodating even without unzipping the extra room . To say I am satisfied with the SW Products would be an exaggeration for sure as I own just about every luggage accessory they offer and while I never use them all at once I use them often enough between my Beemer and my Triumph Bonny that I keep them handy and ready. The Tank Lock proved to be both quick and efficient for fueling and now showed just how sturdy it is when it stopped my fat bukas from going over the top in the recent collision. No a thread torn , not loose fittings following the wreck and may have contributed to the lack of blood shed on my aging body. Two thumbs up and five stars for the city bag and all the others used past and present . Buy with confidence as these bags really do work. (Posted on 12/4/2017)

Purchased for 2017 Kawasaki Versys 300X. Tried 6 different tank bags from other brands as well as the strap style version of similar SWMotech tank bag. All were not a good fit with the fuel lid fill opening and closing. Decided to try this as the previous bag was good but didn't excite me with having the remove all straps everytime. This one is the right shape for the Versys 300 tank, comes on and off in snap and looks perfect. The rain cover is a perfect fit although the clear vinyl is not flexible or supple. If you have a Versys 300X and are considering one, don't bother with the rest, I have tested them all. This is the one! You won't be disappointed. Mounting the fuel ring adapter requires some basic mechanical skills and I do recommend putting a rag in the filler neck to block a fastener from falling in! That would make for a bad afternoon. The filler neck adapter fits perfect. (Posted on 11/30/2017)

I bought this tank bag before a 5K mile trip as I needed more storage. Mounting the flange on my BMWR1200GSA was simple and attaching the back was literally a snap! I rode over 500 miles in rain and used the rain cover and it kept everything inside dry. The space provide plenty of room for my (Posted on 9/26/2017)

I ride more than 300 days a year and have bought many tank bags over the years. I like this bag better than any other I have purchased. It is the perfect size. I can easily remove this and it fits alongside my helmet in my rear box so it is out of the sun. Other bags have been destroyed by the sun as my bike sits outside while i'm at work. I don't often write reviews but this one deserved it. (Posted on 3/4/2017)

I find the tank bag to be perfect for a day ride or two. The quick attach feature is nice and work really good. When I load the bottom part of the bag, I found the tank bag touching the tank, which could have been resolve by making the bottom more rigid. I could not fit a magnetic one easily on my FZ-10, so I went with that one for the quick attach system. The overall quality feel of the bag (Material, zipper, inside pocket) is perfect. The side pocket are really small.
Don't forget you have to drill the holes to fix the bottom plate which attach to the tank ring. Installation was easy and instructions were provided.
It's cheaper than the Yamaha one, and it's basically the same. I think the color of this one fit my bike better. (Posted on 11/17/2016)

Bought this bag in 2014 for my Yamaha FJR 1300 ES. Bike has an MV Motorrad handlebar setback/riser so many tankbags don't clear the handlebars. This one fits perfectly- even to the contour of the gas tank in the rear.
Pros: Perfect size & shape, inner pockets very handy, sturdy zippers.
Cons: Latch mechanism didn't come with a lanyard, so I use a black cable tie on it. Mechanism is very sensitive to dust and sand- had to disassemble and clean several times. When dirt gets in, I have to pull very hard to get it to release, then push the steel cable in to get it to latch. Beading on top of bag has a rubber outer coating that comes off easily, but the fiber underneath seems durable. The plastic fitting on the rear compartment for feeding a wire through had defective stitching and came off. Bag is not water resistant at all, but the included rain cover works well. Just be sure to get it on tight! (Posted on 8/13/2016)

As stated in title, this bag fits the contour of the tank of my '96 R1100RS BMW. My original 20 year old BMW bag finally gave up the ghost and was going to be a hard act to follow. The fit and finish of the City bag is very good. The little zippered compartments on the sides are almost too small to be useful for much but other than that, I'm very satisfied. I intentionally bought a bag without a map pocket cause that is usually the first thing to fail. I purchased the optional map holder and was skeptical at first but it has performed well also. Good stuff (Posted on 2/18/2016)

Brought this tankbag to carry the normal stuff, gloves, cell phone,etc..
Like the way it mounts, the bag never really touches the paint with the tank ring adapter (Posted on 1/14/2016)

Easily fitted to my bike in about ten minutes, I'm impressed by the strength, and the quality of this tank bag. I milled a small hole to route the release mechanism to the interior so I can lock the zip & leave it on the bike. Very happy. (Posted on 12/15/2015)

I've had a couple of the SW-MOTO bags, one on a K1300S and the City bag on my new 2016 R1200RTW. Fits perfectly, easy to install, excellent design, quality materials, attractive. Hidden benefit: the ring mounted on the tank makes gassing up both easier (the vapor collection rubber collar sits on it when fueling) and allows you to more simply fill the tank to capacity. Perfect. Don't change a thing. (Posted on 10/21/2015)

Quality piece and mounts to my 2014 Ducati Multi without much fuss. I did have to wing it a bit drilling the holes since the drilling template was missing so had to fuss with that process a bit but all came out OK. Have not had a chance to use it yet on a long trip but looks like it will last for a long while. I like how quickly the bag can be taken off for refueling. (Posted on 4/19/2015)

I bought the City bag four years ago for my Vstrom and loved everything about it. I've had tank bags on all my bikes since I got hooked about 20 years ago. It holds my camera, glasses, phone, gloves and a ton of misc. The front pocket is designed to allow a headphone wire to exit but I use it for the controller on my heated liner and still have room for parking change, advil, chapstick etc. beneath it.
I am here now after 4 years and 50,000 miles to say I still love this bag. It's a light grey on the topside now but everything works fine with it. I plan to buy a new one and leave it on the shelf until needed. (Posted on 12/20/2014)

I bought it after having a chance to see it at the AIMExpo Orlando. Good solid construction and I don't expect I will ever wear it out. I also ordered the security pin system. It was very easy for me to install. Since I do all my own maintenance, drilling a few holes to attach the Quick-Lock plate was no hassle. I like that they do this since it allowed me to determine the best mounting position for my Tank. There is more than adequate room in this guy to put anything one might want handy without opening a side bag or top box. I don't think I will be able to "fill" it, but that is good thing. I won't have to move stuff around to find it. Because, hey! that is what a tank bag is supposed to be for. (Posted on 11/13/2014)

The bag is a lot floppier than I was hoping, the left side collapses so the whole bag is leaning to the side. Even though the plate is centered underneath, it can't go anywhere but centered, the whole bag is jogged to one side. I've been thinking about calling. After talking with Erik at the Horizons event, it doesn't sound like something he expected to see either. (Posted on 10/15/2014)

I have two other BC bags, the "Daypack" and the "Engage" model. Both of these are great and have a stiff bottom construction.
I bought the "City" bag for my R1200GSLC and also asked customer service if it would fit my Monster 1100EVO (I wanted exchangeability between my two bikes) and was told it would.
The City bag does not fit my Monster since the downward slope of the bottom is too severe.
While the bag conforms well with the steeper GS tank, the bottom is not stiff enough. Even with moderately heavy items in the bag (such as wallet, keys, etc), they all eventually fall into the back/bottom of the bag and the back of the bag sags down and rests on the tank surface. Unloaded, there is about 1 inch of space.
A divider like inside the Engage could help with this but there is no divider nor a provision to add one. The Engage bottom is also much stiffer and would not sag with the same items in the back end.

Overall I'm quite disappointed with the City bag. (Posted on 7/7/2014)

I have been looking for a quick release tankbag for my BMW F700GS for some time. I have tried a few. The branded BMW bag is big and roomy, but doesn't have any built in compartments/pockets to hold stuff. So, I found this potential gem and thought I'd give it a whirl.

Roomy, plenty of pockets and internal compartmentation to fit my needs (cell phone, documents, glasses, gloves, etc). Looks good, not an eye-sore.

Mounting contraption takes up a healthy portion of internal real estate. My installation kit only came with three usable mounting screws, one had no threads. Nothing a trip to HD can't fix. Seating the bag takes acouple tries to get it right. It seems secure until I wiggle it around and it pops off. Once it is secure, it feels flimsy (as stated by the other reviewer).

Coupled with the 201 tank ring, be careful of where you mount it. I thought I considered enough room to use the key effectively, but was mistaken. So, more drilling. I believe some sort of rail system would be better rather than drilling your own holes. Perhaps 1-inch slots which would allow minor adjustments once installed would be better.

Eventhough TT has the disclaimer the power port is blocked, I still can access mine if needed.

Installed, there is quite a gap between the bag and the faux-tank of the GS. This allows minor flapping as I ride around. (Posted on 7/7/2014)

City Tank bag is the best out there. i've owned a lot bikes and a lot of tonk bags and this is the best made bag yet. Slid construction, doesn't flop around on the tank, doesn't come loose,Quick to use at a fuel stop, no holding your buddies up. Perfect size. Would like to see larger side pockets.
