Finally was able to figure out which parts went where - which is based on whether you also have the crash bars or the engine guard installed also- The instructions do have the info- but they are really cryptic in my view. Probably took better part of 3-4 hours of which half was just head scratching and partially disassembling the installed crash bars to make the parts fit. Would have been better to install them both at once instead of buying the crash bars first and the stand later. Now that it is done it was worth it as it all fits together well and works really nicely. Just be prepared to assemble a puzzle. (Posted on 3/23/2018)

having a centre stand just makes things easier in the end (lubing chain, oil change on long trip, emergency tire change). It isn't cheap for that convenience, but once you are used to a centre stand, it is pretty hard to accept not having one. The install of this on it's own would be pretty simple and straight forward, but putting this together with the skid plate and engine guards makes this a far more complicated endeavour (and even more difficult if you spacing with a non-sw motech engine guard set). Just take your time and make sure your spacers get you the right distances on the rear engine mount bolt. (Posted on 8/2/2017)

I bought this center stand to give the Versys some of practicality I had with my BMW. I can now raise the rear for maintaining the chain and rear wheel. The front end can now be proped up for front end work. It does add some weight and lifts the rear of the bike instead of the center.
I would buy it again and recommend it. (Posted on 10/17/2016)

Very well made and engineered! Installation does require a degree in rocket science and chain tension must be closely monitored to avoid digestion by the left side mount. Works very well, bike goes up easily and down off the stand smoothly. (Posted on 3/26/2016)

Took some time to install and I'm glad I didn't pay someone else to do it because it would have taken them the same. Instructions are clear and the parts count is exactly correct, so don't lose any screws and pay attention. Buy some spools and borrow a paddock stand to hold the bike up while installing; I did, and was glad not to have done it with my machine on the kickstand. Attaching the springs takes effort... I don't have a pliers the right shape so used a long screwdriver as a lever and took a few tries. That was the worst and last part. Be careful with the springs.

All of that being said, this thing is as well engineered as anything from the factory and works exactly as it should. Yes, the kickstand needs to be down BEFORE using this center stand and this center stand needs to be back up before putting the kickstand back up. No help for that, and you'll get used to it.

And it add a few pounds, but is easier than lugging a paddock stand around, isn't it? And you can't very well dismount a wheel with the bike perched on a kickstand. (Posted on 11/9/2015)

An engineering background and growing up in Germany helped in deciphering the instructions. You VILL follow zee directions! Product is well-engineered, stout and works! Needed some persuasion, and a pair of truck-sized brake spring pliers to mount the 'retension' (sic) springs. Bought mine w/ the 20% discount and worth every bit. TT is a good place to deal with. Thanks. (Posted on 6/23/2015)

It works great for my 2012 Vs. 650. Goes up and down easy. The only catch is you have to leave the sidestand down before until after you use the centerstand; or you will have to flip the side-stand over the centerstand with one hand. Just trim the plastic (with wire-snips) like the instructions say or it will fit worse, and be harder to flip the stands when needed (or you forget.)

Otherwise, it works like an oem stand or better. It goes up and down easier than any oem centerstand I've owned; and you can service the front and rear tires spinning. You can spin the front tire, easier than most any oem too because it is balanced better. Check for nails, no sweat, adjust the chain, better yet!

If you have a 2015, get an oem centerstand. But for the 2010 to 2014, this is the only game in town, and it's a good quality option too. (Posted on 3/24/2015)
